As long as white supremacist groups with military potential continue to flourish our civil order is in peril. The President is himself now a potential target of these organizations because of his skin color and the supremacy of the office of the Presidency.
The election of President Obama is a historic event and he deserves to serve a full term. Hopefully he will be adequately protected from the armed far right. Thus far local police officials and private citizens have played a crucial role in identifying ongoing assassination plots.
Of course we don't want the authorities creating fake assassination plots but it makes sense that they scrutinize those armed groups preaching racial hatred.
